Annual AGM/Reunion 19th May 2018

One more year has passed and therefore we are all 1 year older. We have had another successful lunch and AGM meeting at the RGS/AO school. This was in spite of having to alter the date from the 12th to 19th May, due to a double booking made by staff at RGS (we had booked the previous Oct).

This obviously lead to a drop in numbers attending as some of the Girls had holidays, other plans, commitments and of course The Royal Wedding. Normally we have 64-75 attending but only 47 this year. We have already booked for next year May 11th 2019.

Wendy (our chairman) asked the school if they could provide a TV for the girls to watch the Meghan/Harry Wedding ceremony. On arrival at the venue we were delighted to see a large screen in the hall so the ‘Ladies’ were able to sit and watch whilst having a welcome drink.

At 1.00pm a lovely lunch was served. Main meal was a choice of Salmon, Chicken, Beef or Roasted Vegetable Strudel with Veg and potatoes. Desserts were Chocolate Tarte, Apple Crumble and Fruit Salad

Wine and Elderflower Presse were served with the lunch and coffee or tea afterwards.

The AGM was well presented and we all thanked  Wendy and Janet for sorting out all the problems they had in rearranging the date and extra paperwork and also making sure there were enough committee members to organise on the day. Wendy welcomed everyone and hoped they all enjoyed watching the Royal wedding. We learned that Miss Anne Richardson, a WSGOGA Vice President, who taught for many years at Worcester Grammar school for Girls, is 100 years old on August 27th

The same committee was elected for another year but would welcome any younger members to join the committee. Some of us are getting weary!!

After the AGM finished, all gathered to have a chat, with Tea /coffee and a scrumptious cake and time to  look at the photos etc of years gone by in the Archive room, displayed by Kathleen Sheppard. There was also a  display of jewellery, scarves etc made in Nepal to be  sold for a Charity in Nepal by Catherine Owen (an old girl).

We are now looking forward to the 2019 Reunion/AGM and hope that you have the date  Saturday May 11th in your diaries.
